HELPING BOZEMAN AND MISSOULA COMMUNITIES GET OFF THE GRASS SINCE 2009

Hello Gardeners! I'm about to embark on my first gardening and composting experience. (Many thanks to 1KNG for helping to get me started. The crew brought by the manure last week- they were so helpful!) My family is excited to start composting (the boys are especially thrilled about the worms!). Does anyone have advice to help get me started? Is it worth it to buy the composting tumblers?

I only have a little composting experience but I have tried it a few different ways...the plastic bins you set on the ground, fill & turn, a pile in the corner of the yard, the garbage can. I would say yes purchase a tumbler (I just got one at Costco for 99) so worth it & my 8year old LOVES to help with composting!
Thanks! That's funny- I just got back from buying the tumbler at Costco! $99 seemed like a deal since those online were at least twice as much. I figured that the easier I make it on us to get started, the more likely we'll be to stick with it!
Exactly! But we do miss the worms! How great is 1000 NEW Gardens!!!
Oh no! Can't we put worms in the tumblers? :(
I am not sure... Good luck & let me know if we can! My boys would love that!
Volunteers will bring by 3 wood pallets (this Friday during the sod cutting) for you to construct a compost enclosure if you'd like to do it on the cheap! On a sidenote: they don't tumble, but yer kiddos will be able to see the worms in action!
